Punjab extends lockdown: Minister Manpreet Badal explains why | Exclusive

With the Punjab government deciding to extend the lockdown, the state's finance minister, Manpreet Badal, spoke to Hindustan Times' National Political Editor, Sunetra Choudhury, to explain the rationale behind the move. Restrictions in the state will continue for two weeks beyond May 3. However, shops will be allowed to open for 4 hours every day. Many other states have spoken in favour of extending restrictions after the current lockdown ends on May 3. However, the Union government is yet to make any announcement.
