‘Sputnik V’ approved: Doctors explain significance in India’s Covid battle

- Doctors in India have welcomed the approval given to ‘Sputnik V’ for emergency use with certain conditions. This will be the third vaccine to be used in India after Covishield and Covaxin. Speaking on the development, doctors said that this is a welcome step as India needs to vaccinate as many people as possible in view of the second wave. India’s approval of the vaccine came on a day it crossed Brazil to become the country with the second-most cases in the world.
