- A group of auto drivers in Pune has launched an initiative - 'Jugaad Ambulance’. 'Jugaad Ambulance' is an initiative to ferry Covid-19 patients across the city. As per ANI, the initiative has been started by a city doctor, Keshav Kshirsagar. “There has been a lot of pressure on our healthcare system due to the current situation. These auto drivers have already been ferrying Covid-19 patients free of cost. Hospital admission is taking time nowadays so we installed oxygen in autos,” Kshirsagar said. Around 100 autos have been turned into auto-ambulances to cater to Covid patients. Auto drivers have installed oxygen support in three of these autos to help patients. An auto driver said, “This service has been named as ‘Jugaad Ambulance’ and we have helpline numbers. We have been trained by a team of doctors on how to give oxygen to patients.” Maharashtra's daily Covid count continued to rise on Wednesday with 46,781 new cases. Around 816 more deaths have been recorded in 24 hours, while recovery rate is at 88.01%.
