An engineer, MBA graduate and a mother: Meet the UPSC toppers!

Lakhs of aspirants sit for the paper of which the Union Public Service Commission recommended as many as 990 names for the IAS, IPSC, IFS, Group 'A' and Group 'B' category in 2017. Twenty-eight-year-old Anudeep Durishetty topped the exam in his fifth try. Anu Kumari, a 31-year-old Physics and MBA graduate bagged the second rank. Sachin Gupta, a mechanical engineer who quit his job for the UPSC bagged the third rank in his third attempt. An alumnus of IIT-Delhi, Buxar native Atul Prakash scored the fourth rank in his second attempt.
