Fardeen Khan comes from a distinguished film family; his father is actor-director Feroz Khan and his uncle is actor Sanjay Khan. He is married to Natasha Madhwani, the daughter of former actress Mumtaz and business tycoon Mayur Madhwani. Fardeen made his film debut in November 1998 with Prem Aggan, which was directed by his father. Though the film did not do well, he received the Filmfare Best Debut Award for his performance.
