EU turns Zelensky scandal into ‘proof of progress’? Dombrovskis’ shocking spin on $100 million row

European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and Danish Finance Minister Stephanie Lose defended Ukraine amid a $100 million corruption probe that has rocked Kyiv. Speaking after EU finance ministers’ talks in Brussels, Dombrovskis said the scandal showed Ukraine’s anti-corruption system was “delivering results,” not failing. He also urged member states to back the controversial €140 billion “reparations loan” for Ukraine, using frozen Russian assets. The corruption case has led to the resignation of two senior Ukrainian ministers and raised questions about future aid. Despite divisions within the EU, Dombrovskis insisted continued support for Ukraine remained a “strategic and moral necessity.”
