Qatar show progress of stadiums ahead 2022 FIFA World Cup

The Al Wakrah and Al-Rayyan stadia in the suburbs of Doha, and the Al-Bayt stadium in Al Khor are scheduled to be finished by the end of 2018. The Qatar Foundation stadium is due for completion in early 2019. Two stadia, the Khalifa International stadium and the Al Rayyan stadium are upgrades on older constructions. The Khalifa was converted from a 20,000 seater to 40,000 in 2017 making it the first stadium to be completed. The Al Rayyan stadium will also be a 40,000 seater. The biggest arena, the Lusail Iconic stadium, which will host the tournament opener and the final, is set to provide seats for 86,250 fans. The Ras Abu Aboud Stadium and the Al Thumama Stadium are planned for completion towards the end of 2020. (Video courtesy - SNTV)
