India arranges buses to evacuate students from Sumy; Russia, Ukraine nod awaited

Authorities awaiting security clearances to begin the evacuation of around 700 Indians from Sumy. Heavy shelling in Sumy as Russian forces continue laying siege to Ukrainian cities. Sources say small teams of Indian officials stationed in east Ukraine to facilitate evacuations from Sumy. Stranded Indian nationals in Sumy, mostly students, are taking refuge in campuses & bunkers. As per sources buses and vehicles have been arranged to ferry the Indians to safer areas. Indians advised to be ready to leave at short notice, security clearances from Russian & Ukrainian sides awaited.
