‘A-SAT not a derivative of Prithvi missile’: DRDO chairman after Mission Shakti

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) chairman G Satheesh Reddy clarified that the Anti-satellite weapon is not a derivative of Prithvi Missile. Reddy also said that the A-SAT missile has a range of up to 1000 km plus and has capabilities of targeting all 'Low Earth Orbit' (LEO) satellites. India successfully tested A-SAT missile on Wednesday after it shot down a low-orbit satellite.
