Are you there, government? It’s me, the tricolour weaver

Banetha, an otherwise nondescript village in Rajasthan's Dausa, is one of the four places in the country that are licensed to make the cloth for the national flag. When HT visited Banetha in the year 2009, there were some 25 families in the village that wove the cloth. Eight years later, there are only six. A few of them are already considering shutting down and taking up some other work.
