Army Chief Gen. Dalbir Singh pays homage to Kargil War heroes

Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Dalbir Singh on Monday paid homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives while recapturing the hilly regions of Jammu and Kashmir during the 1999 Kargil War. The army chief expressed his condolence and gratitude to the family members of soldiers who lost their lives. It was on this day in 1999 that the Indian Armed Forces recaptured Indian posts in Kargil which had been occupied by the Pakistan Army. This day is remembered as Kargil Vijay Diwas, which was named after Operation Vijay.
