Opposition parties held a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi regarding the detention of political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir. Members of Congress, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Samajwadi Party participated in the protest. Former Jawaharlal Nehru University student leader Shehla Rashid was also present. Son of former Union Minister P. Chidambaram was also seen at the demonstration. A day earlier, Chidambaram was arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation officers in relation with an alleged corruption case.
