With a heated battle for India's reins underway, former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo says that he is ready to sit beside Congress President Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha if the latter becomes PM. HD Deve Gowda said this in response to a question on whether he is eyeing the Prime Minister's throne for himself. Congress and Janata Dal (Secular), which are ruling Karnataka together, have also teamed up for the Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi's candidature to be the PM has been supported in the past by DMK chief MK Stalin.
