PM Modi meets President Vladimir Putin, calls Russia ‘trustworthy partner’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Russia on Wednesday and met Russian president Vladimir Putin. PM Modi met President Putin on the sidelines of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum. “This is a historical occasion to give a new dimension to the support between the two countries,” Modi said at the delegation-level talks.
PM Modi is on a two-day bilateral visit to Russia where he will attend the Eastern Economic Forum and hold summit talks with Putin.
Speaking in Vladivostok, Modi also thanked Putin for the decision to award him Russia's highest civilian award. He said it demonstrates the friendly relations between the people of our 2 countries. “It's a matter of honour for the 1.3 billion Indians,” he added.
