Mumbai: 2 buildings collapse, rescue ops underway amid heavy rainfall

Two incidents of cave-ins at buildings occurred in Maharashtra's Mumbai. A six-storey building collapsed in the Fort area, with people believed to be trapped under the debris as well as the remaining portion of the structure. In Malad, a ground-plus-two floor chawl caved-in. At least 4 people were rescued while search was on for more. Mumbai received moderate to heavy rainfall on July 15 and 16. In the first 16 days of July, the city has received 122% of its monthly average rainfall.
