Pollution chokes Delhi, UP official says ‘do yagya, pray to Indra’
Updated on Mar 05, 2020 07:35 pm IST
Amid the worsening pollution situation in the national capital region, an Uttar Pradesh official made a suggestion. Sunil Bharala, chairman of UP Labour Welfare Council, said that governments must perform 'yagya' and pray to Hindu god Indra to get rid of pollution. He also said that stubble burning doesn't cause pollution. As per experts, a confluence of factors, including stubble burning in states like Punjab and Haryana, bursting of firecrackers on Diwali, and weather conditions, has led to Delhi and neighbouring regions choking in a toxic haze.
