‘Tough laws needed to combat terror,’ says Amit Shah as LS passes UAPA bill

Home Minister Amit Shah defended the Unlawful Activites (Prevention) Amendment Bill 2019 in the Lok Sabha as the bill passed on Wednesday. Shah said that the law is to finish terrorism and assured that there will be no misuse. The amendment provides special procedures to deal with terrorist activities, and individuals that foster terrorism in India. “If UPA was correct in amending anti-terror laws in their tenure, then so are we,” Shah added. The bill will now be tabled in Rajya Sabha.
