Updated on Sept 30, 2016 03:10 pm IST
The villages in the Samba sector and RS Pura in Jammu and Kashmir are being evacuated after India carried out surgical strikes in Pakistan on Wednesday night. People left their houses, fearing for lives, with whatever little they could carry with them. The administration took them to safer places by buses and boats. A large number of people have left villages on the border, worried about their livestock and their own safety. Even in Punjab, villages in the 10-kilometre radius of the Line of Control were evacuated. People were seen leaving their villages fearing an attack by Pakistan in retaliation to the surgical strike carried out by India.
