Watch: Elderly woman thrashed in Ghaziabad by alleged eve-teaser, accused held

An elderly woman thrashed by her neighbour on streets of Ghaziabad's Kavi Nagar. The incident, which took place on September 12, was captured on CCTV. The victim had reportedly tried to stop an eve-teasing attempt at her daughter. The incident came to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media. In the video, the accused is seen beating up the victim with a steel chair. The accused, identified as Sunil Chaudhary, thrashed the woman in full public view. Police informed that they have arrested the accused on September 14. “An elderly woman was attacked with a chair in Kavi Nagar. The man who had attacked the elderly woman was her neighbour. Earlier as well, they had a tussle over certain issues. After receiving a complaint, we provided medical treatment to the victim. An FIR has been registered and the accused has been taken into custody,” SP Ghaziabad, Abhishek Verma, said.
