Watch: Frogs married off in MP and UP for better monsoon
Updated on Jun 24, 2018 12:43 pm IST
Frogs were married off in a bizarre ritual to please rain gods in the hope of a better monsoon in two different incidents recently. One such marriage was allegedly organised on June 22 in Madhya Pradesh's Chhattarpur by Lalita Yadav, the state minister for woman and child development. The other incident took place in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi where locals married off two frogs in an elaborate ceremony. The marriage of frogs for a good monsoon is an old ritual being followed in several states for many years now.
