Apprehending ULFA attack, security beefed up in Assam

To prevent any untoward incident triggered by the anti-talks faction of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) including violence, Assam government has placed security forces on high alert in the state. According to intelligence reports, it was found that Paresh Barua, who leads the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), is forming alliances with assorted militant outfits. Gogoi said that Paresh Barua could be along the China-Myanmar border and further stated that the government has reiterated the earlier request to Barua to come forward for talks in the best interest of the state.
