US ambassador to India David Mulford on September 6 termed nuclear nation's approval for trade waiver as a victory day for India. Railway minister Lalu Prasad welcomed the waiver saying it would help the country in a big way. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M) said that it looked as if India has accepted a Non-Proliferation regime. A global atomic cartel on Saturday decided to lift a 34 year old ban on nuclear trade with New Delhi.
