Bangalore stadium blast probe on, no headway yet

Updated on Apr 18, 2010 11:54 pm IST

The police have taken up investigation into the twin blasts at Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium just before the start of IPL match on Saturday. Sources say that the explosive was an ammonium nitroglycerin gelatin stick. It was detonated with a micro-chip fitted timer. The explosive was wrapped in a plastic cover and placed near the wall adjacent to Gate 12 of the stadium. However, the police are struggling to find concrete leads. What has rattled Bangalore police is that the bomb went unnoticed even after the stadium was sanitised thrice.
