BJP flogging dead horse over Bofors scam: Sibal
Updated on Jan 07, 2011 09:21 pm IST
HRD and Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal observed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raising the Bofors case is like flogging a dead horse. He said this on Thursday in New Delhi while reacting to the recent statement of the BJP leaders on the contention of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal that the beneficiaries of the Bofors gun deal ought to pay income tax since it was in the context of India. Sibal said that during the regime of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), no efforts were made to present a single evidence to say the Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi had any links with the Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, one of the prime accused in the kickbacks scam.
