With thousands of brass foundries, 5000 moulding industries and 600 exporting units prospering in Moradabad, this town in Uttar Pradesh has made a mark in the brass handicraft and utensil industry. And the credit for its success is attributed to harmony between Hindu and Muslim workers. Brassware ranging from utensils to decorative items is made here which caters to both domestic and foreign markets. Social harmony and cultural integration among brass industry artisans is a major factor that keeps the furnaces burning.
