BSF foils infiltration bid into restive Kashmir

Border Security Force officials on Monday foiled yet another desperate bid by suspected militants to infiltrate into restive Jammu and Kashmir. Firing started on the International Border in Elfa Machal Border Out-Post (BOP) area just after Sunday midnight and over 200 rounds of gunfire were fired from across the border in about an hour. Officials said that a 20-meter stretch of the fence was blown up along the Pakistan border in Kanachak sector of Akhnoor, 50 kilometres from Jammu.
