Campaign to save famous Dal lake

Voluntary groups and residents have jointly launched a drive to clean up Dal Lake, a tourist hotspot in the heart of Kashmir's summer capital Srinagar. Raw sewage, land encroachment and years of neglect have been threatening the survival of the lake where visitors from across the world once enjoyed the idyllic stillness of fresh waters surrounded by cedar-laden Himalayan mountains.
