CID arrests five Maoists in West Bengal

Anuj Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Criminal Investigation Department in Kolkata on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of five Maoists, including a key aide who played an important role during the Nandigram agitation. He said that they were rounded up on Tuesday from Bishnupur in 24 Parganas district and Garia, a suburb located on the southern outskirts of the city. He CID first arrested three Maoists from Amtala bus stop at Bishnupur and subsequently two others from Garia.
