CM Mamata’s deadline to Maoists ends, Maoists call bandh

A showdown between West Bengal CM Mamata Banarjee and the Maoists are very much on the cards, with both of them hardening their stands. The Maoists snubbed Mamata Banarjee by rejecting the seven-day ultimatum to lay down arms and instead called a bandh from October 22, the last day of the deadline.
