Thousands of locals and foreign athletes in New Delhi participated in a run on January 6 to mark the 1000 days countdown to the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The run began from Vijay Chowk and concluded at the India Gate. Athletes from Australia, England and some African countries and many prominent Indian sport personalities including weight lifter Karnam Malleswari also participated in the race.
