Digvijay backs Rahul' UP padyatra

Signalling a stepped-up campaign against the Mayawati government ahead of the Assembly polls next year, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday morning reached Bhatta-Parsaul in Greater Noida and met families of farmers. Mayawati government has denied permission to the Gandhi scion to hold rally in Bhatta Parsaul. Gandhi started a padyatra from Bhatta-Parsaul to Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, who is also accompanying Gandhi, said that his footmarch would culminate on ninth July in Aligarh where he would address Kisaan Mahaanchayat.
