Chinese tennis star Li Na has ignited another wave of national pride in her home country after making it to the French Open final by defeating windswept Maria Sharapova. Li beat Sharapova by 6-4 in the first set and 7-5 in the second after dealing better with gusty conditions on the Court Philippe Chatrier in Paris on Thursday. Li's achievement was regarded more admirable as the 29-year-old had worked her way up over the years behind the scenes, despite the absence of government support.
