Govt raises LPG cap to 9

In a major development, the Cabinet today approved the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas's proposal to raise the cap on subsidized cooking gas cylinders (LPG) from six a year to nine. The price of LPG cylinder will, however, remain unchanged. Simultaneously, the Cabinet also allowed oil companies the freedom to revise diesel prices from time to time; however, it did not hike diesel prices immediately.
