Govt to set up panel to check misleading ads

The central government on Thursday decided to set up an inter-ministerial panel of 15 members to suggest ways to monitor misleading advertisements and also review existing laws in order to make them more effective. In view of a large number of complaints received from consumers about such ads, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister K. V. Thomas held a meeting to discuss the issue, in New Delhi.
