HD Kumaraswamy begins his hunger strike

Former Karnataka Chief and State President of Regional Janata Dal (Secular), HD Kumaraswamy, began his fast-unto-death from Saturday, after BJP accused him of amassing illegal assets worth Rs 1,500 crore. It may be recalled that Kumaraswamy, had announced his plans to undertake fast unto death, if the state government fails to order a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the charge sheet made public by the BJP, which alleges that Kumaraswamy and his family members had amassed illegal wealth valued at Rs 1,500 crore through unlawful activities.
