The Indian Air Force's eye in the sky, that is Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) platform fitted on IL-76 aircraft, will be a major attraction for the Republic Day parade to be held on January 26 in New Delhi. The Israeli-built system is mounted on a Russian-built IL-76 transport aircraft as a part of the tripartite agreement between India, Israel and Russia. The induction of AWACS in the Air Force will help it enhance its defensive and offensive preparedness.
