Activists of Goa Heritage Action Group are somewhat upset over the controversial Goa Regional Plan-2011. According to this plan, Asia's first ever gunpowder factory at Ribander (port of Rai) is to be pulled down. At this the heritage activists have urged the government to stop the demolition of this historical structure that dates back to the 16th century. A huge residential complex has been planned at this place.
