Jitan Ram Manjhi on why he quit as Chief Minister of Bihar
Updated on Feb 20, 2015 05:21 pm IST
Hours ahead of the trust vote in Bihar Assembly, Chief Minister Manjhi submitted his resignation to Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi. After several rounds of meetings in Nitish Kumar's camp on Thursday, speculations were rife that Manjhi will fall short of support. While addressing a press conference, Manjhi reiterated that if a secret ballot was conducted, he would receive support of 140 MLAs. He also added that the post of CM was not given respect and he did not want to be reduced to a rubber stamp. He also compared Nitish to 'Bhishma Pitamah' and said not a word was uttered when he wasn't allowed to do any work.
