After threatening the UPA government of pulling out support if it does not roll back hiked petrol prices, DMK supremo M Karunanidhi has taken a U-turn saying that he never made such a comment. The DMK chief said that his remarks were distorted by the media. Earlier, addressing party workers in Saidapet after inaugurating the state-wide protest against the petrol price hike, Karunanidhi had said that the DMK would part ways with the UPA if they fail to rollback the prices. Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi has said that the DMK is a very respectable ally of UPA
