Kashmir: Suspected militants kill sarpanch

Suspected militants on Saturday gunned down a village sarpanch in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir. Unidentified gunmen abducted Aglar Village head, Muhammad Shafi Wani, who was a contractor by profession. His body was found in the morning. Police have registered a case and investigation into the incident is underway. Over 700 village council members had quit their posts, under threat from militants, after a series of attacks on them took place in 2012.
