Kidney patients from Africa flocking to India

Ahmedabad, main city of Gujarat, has emerged as a hub of medical tourism as Africans flock to avail of cheap and quality kidney transplants. Patients from northern African countries, especially Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria find Indian hospitals a better option than those in Europe or even Johannesburg, South Africa.Of a total of 231 foreign patients who visited Ahmedabad city hospitals last year, 29 were from Africa.
