The annual Ladakh festival, a fifteen day cultural extravaganza promoting tourism in the scenic region, kicked off in Jammu and Kashmir recently. The cultural fiesta began with a procession of hundreds of resplendently attired artists from various regions of Ladakh, walking through the streets of Leh town. Ladakhi people, bedecked with gold and silver ornaments and turquoise headgears, along with polo horses, yaks and double humped camels, thronged the streets.
