Lokpal Bill will not lead to parallel government: Hazare

Updated on Jun 23, 2011 08:59 pm IST

Responding to government representative Kapil Sibal's remarks that the Lokpal Bill may lead to a parallel government, social activist Anna Hazare on Wednesday maintained that this was not the case. Hazare further stated that the government's refusal to include the central police or Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the Lokpal will do little to eradicate corruption. Hazare was also critical about the government's move to include all the NGOs under the ambit of the Lokpal and leave the Lokayukta out of it.
