Mamata, Karuna to skip PM's dinner
Updated on May 22, 2012 02:12 pm IST
TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi will not be seen at the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today to mark the third anniversary of UPA-II at the centre. While Mamata has not given any specific reason for not attending the event, Karunanidhi has cited poor health as the reason for his absense. Mamata's move is also being related to the widening rift between her party and the Congress which has not shown any interest in granting a special financial package for West Bengal. However, on behalf of DMK senior leader TR Balu would be attending the celebrations.
