Medicinal farming gaining roots in Punjab

At the center of research in agriculture, the experts are busy experimenting in diversifying conventional wheat and paddy rotation. An alternative could be medicinal foliage, which is now in great demand the world over. Out of some 140 medicinal varieties of plants to experiment with, the agro-experts at the Punjab Agricultural University at Ludhiana have recommended some 10 varieties of herbal plants to the farmers.
