Mirwaiz seeks troop reduction

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of the moderate fraction of the All Party Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday demanded that troops from both sides of the border be pulled back to solve the dispute over the region. He said demilitarization did not mean replacement or repositioning of the armed forces. Addressing a rally near the summer capital Srinagar, Mirwaiz said both India and Pakistan should reduce forces from both sides of Kashmir.
