Mumbai cop assault: 2 MLAs get bail

A Mumbai Court on Monday granted bail to two state legislators, Kshitij Thakur and Ram Kadam who were arrested for assaulting Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Suryawanshi on the first floor of Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan last week. The legislators were reportedly released on a surety of Rs 15,000 each. The two will need to present themselves before the Crime Branch of the Mumbai police once a week. Thakur and Kadam are among the five legislators suspended from the legislature till the end of this year for assaulting Suryawanshi. The legislators had on March 21 surrendered before the Mumbai crime branch.
