Nation pays homage to Nehru on his 47th death anniversary

The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was remembered by the nation on his 47th death anniversary on Friday. Congress party leaders, including party Chief Sonia Gandhi, Delhi Chief Sheila Dikshit, Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, and Vice President Hamid Ansari paid floral tribute to Nehru at his mausoleum Shanti Van in New Delhi. Several functions including seminar and symposium are being organised across India to mark the occasion.
