The Vishwa Hindu Parishad staged a nation-wide road blockade today to oppose the government's plan to go ahead with the Sethusamudram project. According to reports, traffic in Mumbai, Agra, Chandigarh, Jammu, Indore, Patna and at 20 flyovers in New Delhi were blocked by VHP followers. Hindu groups have called on the government to stop the project, saying it will demolish a bridge linking India and Sri Lanka, believed to build by Lord Ram.
