Odisha issues notice to over 100 mine owners

Odisha Mining Minister Rajanikant Singh has denied the allegations of a 'mega mining scam' levelled by Union Minister Srikant Jena against Odisha Government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Defending the state government and the Chief Minister, Singh said that more than 100 mine owners, have been slapped with the notices for their alleged involvement in "illegal and excess mining" at its captive mines. Talking about the issue Odisha mining secretary Rajesh Verma said that matter the is under investigation. Meanwhile in Bhopal, Congress General Secretary, Digvijaya Singh hailed Jena's allegation by calling him a responsible and senior political leader of Odisha.
